Note: This Agenda Blog is only an approximate plan of the weekly lesson plans. Changes can and will be made due to unanticipated circumstances and in order to maximize instructional effectiveness.
Economics
Monday – Course Overview. Teacher will go over course objectives. Syllabus. Teacher will pass out syllabuses. Teacher will review the syllabus, classroom procedures, expectations, and grading with the students.
Homework: Students must have parent or guardian sign syllabus and return by Friday.
Tuesday – Icebreaking Activities. Class will play a couple of icebreaking games to help the students get to know each other and to build a positive team spirit within the classroom.
Wednesday – Why Do We Learn Economics? Students will actively participate in whole class and small group discussion on the importance of learning our history. Students will answer guided questions directed by teacher.
Thursday – Fundamentals of Economics. PowerPoint Presentation on the fundamentals of Economics. Students will listen, read slides, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.
Friday – Fundamentals of Economics (Continued). PowerPoint Presentation on the fundamentals of Economics. Students will participate in class discussions and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.
High School English

Wednesday – Five Minute Writing Prompt. What is your favorite animal and why? Reading Between the Music. Teacher will show brief presentation on how this activity is done. Students will then listen to the song, complete activity, and discuss. A Chance in the World (Prereading). Class will read pages 4 through 6, complete corresponding activities, and review the vocabulary words located on these pages.
Thursday – Five Minute Writing Prompt. If you could meet any famous person, living or dead, who would it be and why? A Chance in the World. Class will read pages 7 through 14 and complete corresponding activities. Students will participate in class discussion and answer questions directed by teacher.
Friday – Five Minute Writing Prompt. If you were trapped on a deserted island, what is the one thing you would want to have with you? Why? A Chance in the World (Post-reading). Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 16 and the Analyze the Text questions on page 17.
8th Grade English
