Middle School

Welcome to Middle School at MA! We adhere to the Florida Standards in all of our academic courses. MA is a small, family-oriented school with friendly staff and highly qualified teachers.

Program Highlights

Curriculum

Our curriculum is aligned with Florida’s new B.E.S.T. standards to prepare students for success in high school courses. By focusing on developing critical thinking skills and content knowledge across multiple domains, the curriculum prepares students to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Special Programs

8th grade Accelerated Program: Students who pass their 7th grade mathematics state exams qualify for our accelerated 8th grade program where they can take required high school courses such as Algebra I and Biology I while still in middle school. Earning two high school credits in middle school will be a great boost toward their high school graduation requirements, but students who show initiative and aptitude can take it even further.

For example, one of our 8th grade students successfully completed 6 high school classes in the 8th grade! This means that they will enter high school as a 10th grader and have a significant head start on their path to college.

We offer Industry Certifications through the FLVS to ALL of our interested students in grades 7-11.

There are currently 20 online classes for certifications in:
Microsoft  -  Oracle  -  Adobe  -  CompTIA  -  Cisco
Students can earn up to 12 college credits and meet the Career and Technical requirement for The Gold Medal/Bright Futures scholarship through this certification program.

Helping others is an integral part of being a good citizen. We expect our students to contribute a minimum of 75 hours of community service by the time they graduate. Students can fulfill this requirement in various ways. This component will also meet prerequisites for scholarships and college entrance.

Athletics

In addition to the sports that MA offers students may play any sport through the school they are zoned for.
