Giovanna Hamilton is a native of Panama, but has lived in the USA for 31 years. She has a PhD.
I'm excited to be a part of the Micanopy staff this year. I'm from a little town in North Florida called Wellborn where I was raised in the house that my great grandfather bought in 1917. I received an Associates of Science in Landscape Technology, from LCCC in 2001. I was lucky enough to do my internship in Walt Disney World's Horticultural Department. However, I have spent more of my professional time working as a Personal Assistant and doing secretarial work.
I live in Gainesville with my husband, James and our two daughters, Carmen and Caitlin. When I'm not working or being a mom, I love to dabble in carpentry, go saltwater fishing, putter in my garden, or curl up on the couch with a good mystery and any one, or more, of our 4 cats.
Brenton Washington completed his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Sciences from Kean University. In the 2019/20 school year, Mr. Washington will be teaching 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade mathematics. Ms. Williams graduated from Williston High School and has worked at Nationwide Insurance and the University of Florida. She joined the MA family in 2012 and enjoys working with the faculty and students alike. Her hobbies include reading and sewing. She was also told that it was her smile that helped someone make the decision to join her church.
She enjoys spending time with friends and family and is looking forward to a great year with new and former students!
