Government

Monday – NO SCHOOL.

Tuesday – The Formation of Public Opinion. Students will read pages 214 to 219 in the textbook, define all terms, and answer checkpoint questions.

Homework: Measuring Public Opinion. Students will read pages 220 to 225 in the textbook, define all terms, and answer checkpoint questions. 

Wednesday – Conducting A Public Opinion Poll. Students will conduct a public opinion poll using the directions provided on page 227.

Thursday – The Mass Media. Students will read pages 228 to 236 in the textbook, define all terms, and answer checkpoint questions.

Friday – Political Advertisement. Students will work together to write a political advertisement for a school-related issue or candidate.

 


High School English

Monday – NO SCHOOL.

Tuesday – Vocabulary Story. Students will receive Vocabulary List 15 and will write a story containing ten vocabulary words from Vocabulary List 15 and ten vocabulary words from earlier vocabulary lists. The story must be at least 400 words long.

Wednesday – FAST Essay Review. Class will review the structure of the FAST Essay and will play a game to review key information.

Thursday – Vocabulary Quiz 15. Quiz on Vocabulary List 15.

Friday – NO CLASS. Students will be taking their FAST Test.

 


8th Grade English

Monday – NO SCHOOL.

Tuesday – It’s Complicated: The Social Lives of Networked Teens. Students will read pages 396 to 398 in the textbook. Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 399 and the Analyze the Text questions on page 400.

Wednesday – FAST Essay Review. Class will review the structure of the FAST Essay and will play a game to review key information.

Thursday – NO CLASS. Students will be taking their FAST Test.

Friday – Outsmart Your Smartphone. Students will read pages 407 to 412 in the textbook. Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 413 and the Analyze the Text questions on page 414.

 


8th Grade American History

Monday – NO SCHOOL.

Tuesday – Improving Society. Students will explore ways in which reformers attempted to improve society during the first half of the 19th Century, and work in groups to come up with ideas to improve society during the 21st Century.

Wednesday – The Fight Against Slavery. Class will read and review, and students will complete pages 179 to 181 in the workbook.

Homework: A Call for Women’s Rights. Students will read pages 427 to 430 in the textbook.

Thursday – American Literature and Arts. Students will read and complete pages 193 to 195 in the textbook.  

Friday – Brain Bowl Review. Cumulative review game.
