Note: This Agenda Blog is only an approximate plan of the weekly lesson plans. Changes can and will be made due to unanticipated circumstances and in order to maximize instructional effectiveness.

 

Government

Monday – Voter Behavior. Class will review pages 170 to 178 in the textbook. Students will define all terms and answer checkpoint questions.

Tuesday – Chapter 6 Study Guide. Students will receive Chapter 6 Study Guide. Class will review together and then students will study independently.

Wednesday – Brain Bowl Review. Cumulative review game on concepts, ideas, and definitions learned over the course of the quarter.

Thursday – Voting Test. Test on Chapter 6.

Homework: The Nominating Process. Students will read pages 184 to 192 in the textbook.

Friday – NO CLASS

 


High School English

Monday – Writing Conclusion Paragraphs. Class will review how to write a conclusion paragraph for an expository essay. Students will write an IRC Outline, and write a conclusion paragraph for a given prompt.

Tuesday – Writing Introduction and Conclusion Paragraph. Class will review how to write an introduction and conclusion paragraph, and will practice with a given prompt.  

Wednesday – Transition Words. Class will review common transition words used to link sentences and ideas. Students will practice writing transition words for a given prompt.

Thursday – Persuasive Essay. Class will review differences between the Persuasive and Expository essays, and practice with a given prompt.

Friday – NO CLASS.

 


8th Grade English

Monday – The Plantation South. Students will read pages 396 to 400 in the textbook. Students will define all terms, answer all checkpoint questions, and complete the Check Your Progress questions (1 through 6).

Homework: The Challenges of Growth. Students will read pages 401 to 405 in the textbook.

Tuesday – The Challenges of Growth. Class will read and review, and students will complete pages 179 to 181 in the textbook.

Wednesday – Chapter 11 Study Guide & Review. Students will receive Study Guide for Chapter 11. Class will review. Students will be given time to review independently. Class will spend the last 20 minutes reviewing concepts together.

Thursday – Industrial Revolution Test. Test on Chapter 11 in the textbook.

Friday – NO CLASS.
