Here are a few of the options you can choose from for your middle and high school experience:
1. Civics & Law Program
Our brand new Civics and Law Program is launching this year and promises to be an exciting new option for Florida students. Mock trials and debates, field trips and deep-dives into how things work make this one-of-a-kind option engaging and authentic. We aim to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal and political systems that shape our society, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens within them.
2. Dual Enrollment
We partner with Santa Fe College (SFC) to provide a tuition-free option for our high school students to earn college credits. Hard working students can even earn an associate's degree or vocational training from SFC without financial cost, alongside a high school diploma. About 50% of our high school students choose dual enrollment and are able to significantly decrease the burden of college tuition.
3. Free After-School Tutoring
Free is always a great option but it’s not always possible at a larger school. Our small school is able to offer free tutoring for all 6th-12th grade students on homework, projects or math assignments outside of school hours. Just show up and ask for help–we’re here for you!
4. Accelerated Programming in Middle School
At the middle school level, we offer an Accelerated Program that provides the opportunity to take high school level courses while still in 8th grade. By aligning our curriculum with Florida’s new B.E.S.T. standards, we not only provide a top-notch education, but we also ensure that all graduation requirements are met so you can graduate when you are ready.
5. Graduate Early
Did you know that about 30% of our students graduate ahead of schedule every year? Careful planning, personalized attention and accelerated programming make this dream a reality for many Micanopy students. If you are ready to get a head start on life, early graduation is a great option.
