THIS IS SPIRIT WEEK! HR and 1st PERIOD WILL BE DOING SPIRIT ACTIVITES. GO MUSTANGS!

Period 1: English 3/4

SEE ABOVE NOTICE ABOUT SPIRIT WEEK.

NOTE: If you are absent for story reading, read it and summarize what you read. If absent, see “Period 1” folder for handouts. Work is due the day after you return.

Period 2: Reading/Literature/Film

MON-FRI: We will read the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” aloud in class (handout). An individual post reading activity will be assigned (handout).

IF YOU ARE ABSENT, see the “period 2” folder for makeup work.

Period 3: ELA 6th Grade

MON: We will begin working on the 5-paragraph essay (assignment handed out via handout last week).

TUES-THURS: Working on the 5-paragraph essay following the essay assignment handout steps, which is due on Friday.

WED HW: Write two sentences using the word “frail” in them. Write two sentences using the word “presentation” in them. Write two sentences using the word “actually” in them.

FRIDAY: Turn in your essay at the beginning of class. We will review “Main Idea” (handout) and begin reading passages for comprehension and essay work similar to standardized testing (handouts).

Period 4: Ethics

MON-FRI: Legal Ethics will be discussed, and exercises assigned.

Period 5: STUDY HALL

Period 5 will provide study hall time for all 8th grade students. This period is intended to offer additional time to complete assignments in all classes, absentee work, and afford help in 8th grade ELA. Come prepared to work and study. Grades are based upon dedication to study and behavior standards.

Period 6: Speech and Debate (no class Wednesdays)

MON- FRI: Roundtable debate will be done/judged. Group speech/presentations will be assigned.
