  • Monday: Begin reading Chapter 3 The Fertile Crescent, Section 1 : The Civilization of Sumer pg. 106, noting key terms and answering reading checks as we go

  • Tuesday: Section 1 Assessment pg. 117 // review as a class and correct as needed

  • HW: Behistun Cuneiform due tomorrow

  • Wednesday:Read Chapter 3, Section 2: The First Empires pg. 118 answering Reading Checks and Map Skills as we go

  • Thursday: Complete Unusual Punishment in pairs // Read Chapter 3, Section 3: The Assyrian and Persian Empires pg. 124 answering Reading Checks and Map Skills as we go

  • Friday: 3.2 + 3.3 Section Quiz // City of Babylon

2nd Period: 7th Grade Civics

  • Monday: Begin reading Chapter 3: Creating the Constitution pg. 64// Skim through sections 1, 2, and 3 taking note of headlines and key terms // Begin Chapter 3 Review and Assessment pg. 87 (Due Wednesday).

  • Tuesday: Constitution Day iCivics Lesson

  • Wednesday: CE Homework DUE // Review Chapter 3 Assessment using powerpoint // finish Constitution Day lesson

  • Thursday: Review for Ch. 3 Test!

  • Friday: Binder Check // Chapter 3 Test

3rd Period: 6/7th Grade Advanced Reading

  • Monday: Silent Reading // The Ballad of Ron and John Vocab Packet (Due Friday) // Discuss 20 Book Challenge procedures (reading logs, Genre Wheel) // Fill out Genre survey and form reading teams

  • Tuesday: Silent Reading //Read “A Day’s Wait” pg. 80 (pushed back from last week)// Complete Hero Word Web pg. 86

  • Wednesday: Silent Sustained Reading // Begin Book Advertisements

  • Thursday: Silent Reading // Finish Book advertisements and display in classroom
