Week 4 - In the Shadow of Dorian

Thankfully, we avoided the hurricane. We have a short week, so I’ve had to move the schedule around a bit. I am having a quiz in all my classes this week, so students should be focused and prepared. Hopefully, next week things will get back to normal.


Economics

Wednesday – PowerPoint on the Epic of Gilgamesh. The Wealth of Nations: Adam Smith (Primary Source.)

HW: Complete: The Wealth of Nations: Adam Smith. Study for Quiz on 3 Key Economic Questions & Free Markets (p. 26 – 38)

Thursday – PowerPoint on Centrally Planned Economy. Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities.

Friday – Quiz on 3 Key Economic Questions & Free Markets.

World History

Wednesday – PowerPoint on the Epic of Gilgamesh. Complete Activity. Indus River Valley Civilization (p. 50 – 55).

HW: Complete Review Questions on page 55.

Thursday – Early Chinese Civilization (p. 80 – 83)

HW: Complete Review Questions on page 83.

HW: Class reads pages 26 – 29 and answers review questions on page 29. Review for Test.

Friday – Test on Ancient Egypt, Sumeria, Indus River Valley Civilization, & China. Turn in Notebooks.

American History

Wednesday – Review Study Guide on page 59. Complete Chapter 2 Review & Assessment on pages 60 & 61.

HW: Complete Chapter 2 Review & Assessment.

Thursday – Class Review for Quiz on Age of Exploration & European Colonial Rivalries in North America. Students given additional time to study individually.

Friday – Quiz on the Age of Exploration & European Colonial Rivalries in North America (Chapter 2). Students turn in notebooks.

Reading

Wednesday – Reading Comprehension Activity. Review for Quiz on pages 1 – 43.

Thursday – Class begins reading “Flowers for Algernon” (p. 44 – 73)

Friday – Reading Quiz. Students read silently after finishing.
