Week 3 - Full Sail

We've made it to week 3! The first quizzes and tests are in the grade book. The students are doing a great job! Most did very well on the first set of tests and quizzes. I encourage any student who struggled a bit to put in more time studying so that they can achieve the grade they want.


Economics

Monday – Read textbook pages 26 – 30 and answer questions on page 30.

Tuesday – Finish PowerPoint on “Key Economic Questions.” Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities.

Wednesday – PowerPoint on Free Market. Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities.

HW: Students read pages 31 – 36 and answer questions on page 36.

Thursday – The Wealth of Nations: Adam Smith (Primary Source.)

Friday – Begins PowerPoint on Centrally Planned Economy. Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities.


World History

Monday – Students read pages 12 – 15 in the textbook and answer review questions on page 15.

Tuesday – PowerPoint on Dawn of Civilization. Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities. Students turn in notebooks at the end of class.

Wednesday – Class reads pages 20 – 25 together and discusses. Students complete questions on page 25.

Thursday – PowerPoint on Ancient Egypt.

HW: Class reads pages 26 – 29 and answers review questions on page 29.

Friday – PowerPoint on Ancient Sumeria.


American History

Monday - Students read pages 39 – 41 and complete review questions on page 41. Students read pages 42 – 48 and complete review questions on page 48.

HW: Finish classwork.

Tuesday – Age of Exploration Part 2 PowerPoint. Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities. Students turn in notebooks at end of class.

Wednesday – Colonial Rivalries PowerPoint. Students take notes, watch videos, answer corresponding questions, and complete corresponding activities. Students turn in notebooks at end of class.

Thursday – Students read pages 49 – 52 and complete review questions on page 52.

Friday – Students read pages 53 – 57 and complete review questions on page 57.

HW: Study notes and pages 36 – 57 in the textbook. There will be a quiz early next week. I will let students know in class on Friday what day it will be on.


Reading

Note: All Students need to have a silent reading book to read.

Monday – Students will read “ A Brief History of Chapel Hill,” and complete the reading comprehension questions. Early finishers will read silently in their silent reading book.

Tuesday – Music reading comprehension activity. Students will begin reading “Broken Chain” (pages 29 – 36) and “Oranges” (page 37) and answer the making meaning questions on page 38.

Wednesday - Students will finish reading “Broken Chain” (pages 29 – 36) and “Oranges” (page 37) and answer the making meaning questions on page 38. Early finishers will read silently.

Thursday – Students will complete Choices: Building your portfolio on page 39.

Friday – Class will review Figures of Speech on pages 41 & 42 and Reading Skills & Strategies on page 43.
