Week 12 – Halloween Week

Economics


Monday – Unit 4 Test (Pure Competition, Monopolies, Oligopolies, Government Regulation)


Tuesday – Unit 5, Lesson 1 (Sole Proprietorship) Students will individually read pages 176 – 180 in the textbook. They will answer reading check questions (in red) as they go and complete the assessment question on page 180.

HW: Complete Reading Check and Assessment Questions (if not finished in class)


Wednesday – Unit 5, Lesson 2 (Partnerships & Franchises) Teacher will lead class in reading pages 181 – 186 in the textbook. Students will participate in class discussion and answer teacher directed questions.


Thursday – Unit 5, Lesson 3 (Corporations) Students will individually read pages 187 – 192 in the textbook. They will answer reading check questions (in red) as they go and complete the assessment questions on page 180.

HW: Complete Reading Check and Assessment Questions (If not finished in class)


Friday – Unit 5, Lesson 4 (Cooperatives & Nonprofits) Teacher will lead class in reading pages 193 – 197 in the textbook. Students will participate in class discussion and answer teacher directed questions.



World History


Monday – Read section on the Byzantine Empire (pages 222 – 228.) Answer review questions. Watch corresponding videos and participate in class discussion.


Tuesday – PowerPoint Presentation on the Byzantine Empire. Students will take notes, watch videos, and participate in class discussions.


Wednesday – Chapter 11, Section 2 (Islamic Empires) (p. 243 – 247.) Answer review questions. Watch corresponding videos and participate in class discussion.


Thursday – Chapter 11, Section 3 (Islamic Civilization) (p. 248 – 253) Answer review questions. Watch corresponding videos and participate in class discussion.


Friday - PowerPoint Presentation on World Religions. Students will take notes, watch videos, and participate in class discussions.



American History


Monday – Teacher will lead class in reading pages 150 – 153 in the textbook (From Protest to Rebellion.) Students will participate in class discussion and answer teacher directed questions.

HW: (Due Wednesday) Complete Check Your Progress Questions on page 153.


Tuesday – Students will take notes, watch videos, and participate in class discussion on Tea Party, Intolerable Acts, and “the shot heard round the world” at Lexington & Concord.


Wednesday – Teacher will lead class in reading pages 156 - 161 in the textbook (The War Begins.) Students will participate in class discussion and answer teacher directed questions.

HW: (Due Friday) Complete Check Your Progress Questions on page 161.


Thursday – Students will take notes, watch videos, and participate in class discussion on Second Continental Congress, Patriots vs Loyalists, Olive Branch Petition, Bunker Hill, & Early Battles of the Revolutionary War.


Friday – Students will begin working on Chapter 5 Review & Assessment on page 164 & 165.



Reading


Monday – Speculative Fiction. Introduction to Fahrenheit 451. Students will pay attention and answer teacher-guided questions.


Tuesday – Class will begin reading, “The Inn of Lost Time” (p 227 – 241.)


Wednesday – Class will complete reading, “The Inn of Lost Time” (p 227 – 241.)

HW: Complete Making Meaning Questions on p 243.


Thursday – Quiz on “Landlady,” “Monkeys Paw,” “Tell-Tale Heart,” “There Will Come Soft Rains,” “The Inn of Lost Time,” Elements of Literature: Plot & Suspense, and Speculative Fiction.


Friday – Students will continue working on Spooky Short Stories.
