Quarter 3, Week 8 (3/2 - 3/6)

World History


Monday - Students will complete Chapter 21 Review (Understanding Main Ideas: Questions 1 - 9.) Early finishers will review Chapter 21 in preparation for tomorrow’s test.

HW: Study for Chapter 21 Test. Read Chapter 22, Section 1 and complete Reading Check Questions in notebook.


Tuesday - Chapter 21 Test.

HW: Read Chapter 22, Section 2 and complete Reading Check Questions in notebook.


Wednesday - Class will watch video on the Industrial Revolution. Students will take notes and answer teacher guided questions.

HW: Read Chapter 22, Section 3 and complete Reading Check Questions in notebook.


Thursday - Class will watch video on living and working conditions during the early industrial revolution. Students will take notes and answer teacher guided questions.

HW: Read Chapter 22, Section 4 and complete Reading Check Questions in notebook.


Friday - Class will watch video on the development of socialism and reform movements during the industrial revolution. Students will take notes and answer teacher guided questions.

HW: Read Chapter 22, Section 5 and complete Reading Check Questions in notebook.



Government


Monday - Students will read and make an outline of Chapter 5, Section 2 (Two-Party System in American History.) Students will answer questions 2 and 4 in the Section 2 Assessment.

HW: Study for Chapter 4 Test.


Tuesday - Chapter 4 Test

HW: Read Chapter 5, Section 3 and answer the reading checkpoint questions.


Wednesday - Class will review Chapter 5, Section 2 and Chapter 5, Section 3. Students will answer teacher directed questions. Students will complete an activity in which they will create their own (pretend) political party.

HW: Read Chapter 5, Section 4 and answer the reading checkpoint questions.


Thursday: Class will review Chapter 5 and students will be given time to work on Chapter 5 Assessment (1 - 10)

HW: Complete Chapter 5 Assessment (1-10) and study for Chapter 5 Test.


Friday - Chapter 5 Test.



American History


Monday - Reading Quiz on Chapter 12, Section 2. Teacher will review Chapter 12, Section 2 in the textbook. Students will listen attentively, take notes, and answer teacher-guided questions in their notebooks.

HW: Students will read Chapter 12, Section 3 in their textbook and answer reading check questions in their notebooks.


Tuesday - Possible Reading Quiz on Chapter 12, Section 3. Teacher will review Chapter 12, Section 3 in the textbook. Students will listen attentively, take notes, and answer teacher-guided questions in their notebooks.

HW: Students will read Chapter 12, Section 4 in their textbook and answer reading check questions in their notebooks.


Wednesday - Possible Reading Quiz on Chapter 12, Section 4. Teacher will review Chapter 12, Section 4 in the textbook. Students will listen attentively, take notes, and answer teacher-guided questions in their notebooks.


Thursday - Class will watch videos on the Underground Railroad and Suffragette Movement. Students will take notes and answer teacher guided questions.


Friday - Students will work on Chapter 12 Assessment (Questions 1-11). Early finishers will study for Chapter 12 test on Monday.

HW: Complete Chapter 12 Assessment and study for Chapter 12 Test.



Reading


Monday - Class will begin reading “Pecos Bill and the Mustang” and answer teacher-guided questions in their notebooks.


Tuesday - Class complete review pre-reading activities for “Paul Bunyan.” Students will individually read “Paul Bunyan” and complete the Making Meaning questions on page 509.


Wednesday - Sustained Silent Reading.


Thursday - Class complete review pre-reading activities for “The Cremation of Sam McGee.” Students will individually read “The Creation of Sam McGee” and complete the Making Meaning questions on page 520.


Friday - Reading Comprehension Activity.
