Government


Monday – Basic Principles of the Constitution. Students will break down the six basic principles of the Constitution by answering teacher guided questions and creating drawings representing each of the six principles. (Pages 68 – 75)


Tuesday – Amending the Constitution. Students will learn about the Bill of Rights and the later 17 Amendments. Students will answer teacher guided questions and create a proposed Constitutional Amendment. (Pages 78 – 83)


Wednesday – Identifying Political Roots and Attitudes. Students will examine political roots and attitudes, how they develop, and what factors affect them. They will interview a classmate. (Page 84)


Thursday – Basic Legislation, Executive Decisions, and Executive Action. Students will answer teacher guided questions. (Pages 85 – 88)


Friday – Students will complete Chapter 3 Assessment and Documents Based Assessment. (Pages 90 & 91)



World History


Monday – English Civil War. Students will follow PowerPoint Presentation, take notes, watch video clips, and answer teacher guided questions. (Pages 478 – 482)


Tuesday – Constitutional Monarchy in England. Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 483 – 489)


Wednesday – English Colonial Expansion. Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 490 – 493)


Thursday – The Enlightenment. Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 494 – 496)


Friday – The American Revolution. Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 497 – 503)



American History


Monday – Introduce Chapter 11 (North & South Take Different Paths); Begin Chapter 11, Section 1 (The Industrial Revolution.) Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 378 – 383)


Tuesday – Complete Chapter 11, Section 1 (The Industrial Revolution) & Mill Workers Excerpt. Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 384 – 389)


Wednesday –Chapter 11, Section 2 (The North Transformed.) Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 390 – 395)


Thursday – Chapter 11, Section 3 (The Plantation South.) Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 396 – 400)


Friday – Chapter 11, Section 4 (The Challenges of Growth.) Students will answer teacher guided questions and complete activities. (Pages 401 – 405)



Reading


Monday – Introduce Unit 6: Sneaky Tricks and Whopping Lies. Students complete introductory activities. (Create Trickster Figure and Answer Teacher Guided Questions)


Tuesday – “Brer Possum’s Dilemma” (Pages 453 – 455.) Students complete paraphrasing activity and answer essential questions.


Wednesday – Sustained Silent Reading. Students receive directions for silent reading reflection.

HW: Silent Reading Reflection (Due Monday)


Thursday – Elements of Literature: Folk Tales, Fables, Myths, & Legends (Pages 460 & 461)


Friday – “Coyote Steals Sun & Moon” (Pages 463 – 465), “Brer Rabbit & Brer Lion” (Page 467)
