Note: This Agenda Blog is only an approximate plan of the weekly lesson plans. Changes can and will be made due to unanticipated circumstances and in order to maximize instructional effectiveness.


Government

Monday – Basic Concepts of Democracy. Class will read and review textbook pages 20 through 24. Students will define all bolded terms, answer all checkpoint questions, and complete the Section 3 Assessment questions 1 through 6 on page 24. Students must write questions.

Tuesday – Chapter 1 Assessment. Students will individually complete questions 1 through 10 on page 26.

Wednesday – Chapter 1 Assessment. In a group of three, students will complete question 12. The class will discuss their answers. Students will individually complete question 13. All students are expected to explain and discuss their answers with the class.

Thursday – Chapter 1 Brain Bowl Review.

Friday – Chapter 1 Test


English Honors

Monday – Students will write a persuasive essay on any topic of their choice. Students will follow the six paragraph format used for a persuasive essay (Introduction, 4 Body Paragraphs, Conclusion). Students can gain extra credit by incorporating words from our vocabulary lists into their essays.

Wednesday – 1984. Teacher will introduce and class will begin reading Chapter 1 together.

HW: Students will finish reading Chapter 1 of 1984.

Thursday – 1984. Teacher will review Chapter 1 of 1984. Students will answer teacher-directed questions. Class will begin reading Chapter 2 of 1984.

HW: Students will finish reading Chapter 2 of 1984.

Friday – Quiz on 1984 (Chapters 1 & 2)


8th Grade American History

Monday – Winning Independence. Class will individually read textbook pages 191 to 195. They will define all terms, answer all checkpoint questions, answer the critical thinking question on page 194, and complete the section 4 check your progress questions 1 through 6 on page 195. Students must write all questions.

Tuesday – Chapter 6 Review & Assessment. Students will individually complete questions 1 through 16. Students must write the question.

Wednesday – Chapter 6 Review & Assessment. Students will individually complete questions 1 through 16. Students must write the question. (Continued)

Thursday – Chapter 6 BrainBowl Review
