Economics


Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – Three Basic Economic Questions Test. Test on the Three Basic Economic Questions unit. Early finishers should review, read quietly, or work on an assignment for another class.

Wednesday – Free Market, Part 1. PowerPoint Presentation on the free market economic system. Students will listen, read slides, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.

Thursday – Free Market, Part 2. PowerPoint Presentation on the free market economic system. Students will listen, read slides, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.

Friday – Free Market, Part 2 (Continued). PowerPoint Presentation on the free market economic system. Students will listen, read slides, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.




High School English


Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – (Teacher will return writing journals.) Seven Minute Writing Prompt. What is your dream vacation if money were no option? Is Survival Selfish? Class will read pages 23 to 26. Students are expected to actively participate in class and group discussion.

Homework: Is Survival Selfish? Post-Reading. Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 27 and the Analyze the Text questions on page 28. Students must clearly label everything and write out the questions.

Wednesday – Seven Minute Writing Prompt. Think of a time when you took a disastrous trip. Tell that story. Vocabulary List #1. Students will receive Vocabulary List #1 and class will review. Vocabulary Sentences. Students will write each of the vocabulary words in a sentence with context clues demonstrating their understanding of the vocabulary term.

Thursday – Seven Minute Writing Prompt. What did it feel like on your first day of school this year? Between the Music. Class will listen to the song and write a reflection in their writing journal. (“Only in America” by Brooks & Dunn). Afterwards, students will discuss in their discussion groups.

Friday – Seven Minute Writing Prompt. If you could come up with a great video game idea, what would it be? Be specific. Vocabulary Quiz #1. Quiz on Vocabulary List #1.




8th Grade English


Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – (Teacher will pass back writing journals) Seven Minute Writing Prompt. What is your dream vacation if money were no option? Are Bionic Superhumans on The Horizon? Students will independently read pages 19 to 23 in the textbook. Are Bionic Superhumans on the Horizon? Post-Reading. Students will complete the Assessment Practice questions on page 23 and the Analyze the Text questions on page 24. Students must clearly label and write the questions.

Wednesday – Are Bionic Superhumans on the Horizon? Vocabulary Quiz. Students will take quiz. Between the Music. Class will listen to the song and write a reflection in their writing journal. (“Only in America” by Brooks & Dunn). Afterwards, students will discuss in their discussion groups.

Thursday – Seven Minute Writing Prompt. What did it feel like on your first day of school this year? Lord of the Flies Island Survival Challenge, Part 1. As part of our preparation for reading “Lord of the Flies,” students will participate in interactive activity, creating a “Survival Plan” with their group and presenting it to the class.

Friday – Seven Minute Writing Prompt. If you could come up with a great video game idea, what would it be? Be specific. Lord of the Flies Island Survival Challenge, Part 2. As part of our preparation for reading “Lord of the Flies,” students will participate in interactive activity, acting out several scenes with their group, using the guided directions.




8th Grade American History


Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – Age of Exploration Test. Test on the Age of Exploration unit. Europe Looks Outward. Students will complete pages 16 to 18 in the workbook.

Wednesday – Colonial Rivalry North America. PowerPoint Presentation on the colonial rivalry over North America. Students will listen, read slides, watch video clips, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.

Thursday – Colonial Rivalry North America (Continued). PowerPoint Presentation on the colonial rivalry over North America. Students will listen, read slides, watch video clips, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.

Friday – Enrichment Activity.
