English Honors

Monday – Class will read Chapter 2 in the “Lord of the Flies” together and students will answer guided reading questions provided by teacher.

Homework: Students will finish reading Chapter 2 in the “Lord of the Flies” if we do not finish in class.

Tuesday - Class will read Chapter 3 in the "Lord of the Flies" together and students will answer guided reading questions provided by teacher.

Homework: Students will finish reading Chapter 3 in the “Lord of the Flies” if we do not finish in class.

Wednesday – Class will read Chapter 4 in the “Lord of the Flies” together and students will answer guided reading questions provided by teacher.

Homework: Students will finish reading Chapter 4 in the “Lord of the Flies” if we do not finish in class.

Thursday – Lord of the Flies Creative Writing Assignment #1. Students will write a back-story on one of the following characters from Lord of the Flies: Ralph, Jack, Piggy, Simon, Roger. They will take what they know about the character’s personality and back-story and add to it. I will give more details in class. Minimum 600 words.

Homework: Students who did not complete the questions to the Age of Exploration PowerPoint in class will use the packet and complete them for homework (Due Tuesday)

Wednesday – Age of Exploration Quiz (Students who finish early should read a book or work on something for another class.)

Monday – Elements of Drama PowerPoint Presentation. Students will take notes, define, terms, and answer questions.

Tuesday – Mime Activity #1. Students will individually mime a series of emotions, feelings, and conditions in front of the class. The class will work to identify which emotions, feelings, and conditions they are portraying.

Wednesday – No Class.

Thursday – Mime Activity #2. With a partner, students will plan and then mime a series of complex activities in front of the class. The class will work to identify which emotions, feelings, and conditions they are portraying.

Friday – Elements of Drama Quiz #1. Early finishers will read quietly.
