FRIDAY IS A SCHOOL HOLIDAY – U.F. HOMECOMING.

Period 1: English 3/4

MON: Complete “American History” group comprehension questions (handout).

TUES: Review 5 paragraph essay writing pointers and review handout essay checklist. Review argumentative essays and handout. Assign argumentative essay (handout).

WED-THURS: Work on essay. Due Monday.

NOTE: If you are absent for story reading, read it and summarize what you read. If absent, see “Period 1” folder for handouts. Work is due the day after you return.

Period 2: Reading/Literature/Film

MON-TUES: “The Most Dangerous Game” Vocabulary Group Work (handout).

WED: Vocabulary Quiz; begin “The Most Dangerous Game” pre-reading activities.

THURS: Complete “The Most Dangerous Game” pre-reading activities.

IF YOU ARE ABSENT, see the “period 2” folder for makeup work.

Period 3: ELA 6th Grade

MON: We will read “The Wish” together (handout).

TUES-WED: Group Comprehension Questions (handout) for “The Wish.”

WED HW: Write 2 sentences using the word “trustworthy,” and 2 sentences using the word “gratitude.” SPELLING AND GRAMMAR COUNT!

THURS: We will review 5 paragraph essays (2 handouts).

IF YOU ARE ABSENT, see the “period 3” folder for makeup work.

Period 4: Ethics

MON-THURS: We will be discussing “educational” ethics, plagiarism, AI, paid resources. Groups will have a group project and presentation due MONDAY.

Period 5: STUDY HALL

Period 5 will provide study hall time for all 8th grade students. This period is intended to offer additional time to complete assignments in all classes, absentee work, and afford help in 8th grade ELA. Come prepared to work and study. Grades are based upon dedication to study and behavior standards.

Period 6: Speech and Debate (no class Wednesdays)

MON- THURS: Assign second debate teams (roundtable). Work on debate. Debate will be presented on Monday.
