Week 11- Holiday Season Here We Come!

Focus. Focus. Focus. As we enter holiday season and young minds start to wander, I will keep reminding them to keep focused on the task at hand because that is how greatness is achieved.

Note: Tests this week in all classes, except for Reading.

Economics

Monday – Students will read about Oligopolies (pages 159 – 161.) Students will answer Oligopoly questions worksheet and turn in by the end of the period.

Tuesday – Students read about Government Regulation & Competition (pages 162 – 167.) Students will complete Government Regulation and Competition questions worksheet.

HW: Complete Government Regulation and Competition questions worksheet (if not finished in class.)

Wednesday – Class reviews Florida Unit 4 Quick Study Guide on pages 168 & 169. Students begin working on Florida Unit 4 Assessment (Pages 170 & 171.)

Thursday – Students continue working on Florida Unit 4 Assessment (Pages 170 & 171.) Early finishers study for test tomorrow.

HW: Complete Florida Unit 4 Assessment (Pages 170 & 171) (if not finished in class.)

Friday – Unit 4 Test (Competition & Market Structures)


World History

Monday – Students read pages 162 – 167. Students complete “Roman Empire, Culture, & Society Questions” worksheet (pages 158 – 167.)

HW: Complete “Roman Empire, Culture, & Society Questions” worksheet (if not finished in class.)

Tuesday – Class reviews pages 168 – 171 “The Rise of Christianity.” Class watches various videos on Ancient Rome and participates in class discussion.

Wednesday – Students read pages 172 – 177 “The Fall of the Western Empire” and complete “Fall of the Western Empire Questions” worksheet.

HW: Complete “Fall of the Western Empire Questions” worksheet (if not finished in class)

Thursday – Class will review, prepare, and study for Ancient Rome Test.

Friday – Ancient Rome Test


American History

Monday – Pass out study guide. Review study guide as a class. Allow students time to review study guide.

Tuesday – Class will read pages 145 – 147 (Proclamation of 1763, Sugar Act, Quartering Act, Stamp Act.) Class will watch videos and participate in class discussion.

Wednesday – Quiz on “French and Indian War.”

Thursday – Boston Massacre Image Analysis. Class will read pages 148 & 149 (Writs of Assistance, Boston Massacre, Committees of Correspondence.) Class will watch videos and participate in class discussion.

Friday – Students will complete “The Emergence of Colonial Resistance Questions” worksheet using pages 145 – 149 in their books.


Reading

Monday – Unit 1 Interim Assessment Work Packet

HW: Complete Unit 1 Interim Assessment Work Packet and turn in at the beginning of class on Tuesday.

Tuesday – Students will individually read “The Tell-Tale Heart.” (pages 202 – 207) Students will answer Making Meaning Questions on page 209.

HW: Turn in opening 200 to 300 words of spooky scary story. (Assigned last week)

Wednesday – Elements of Literature: The Short Story.

Thursday – Class will read “There Will Come Soft Rains” together. (pages 214 – 220)

Friday – Students will individually read “Experiment 023681.” (page 222) Students will answer Making Meaning Questions on page 223.
