Economics

Monday – Economic Growth. Class will read and review pages 310 to 316 in the handout. Students will define all terms, answer all checkpoint questions, and answer the assessment questions on page 316.

Tuesday – Unemployment. Class will read and review pages 317 to 322 in the handout. Students will define all terms, answer all checkpoint questions, and answer the assessment questions on page 322.

Wednesday – Inflation & Deflation. Class will read and review pages 323 to 328 in the handout. Students will define all terms, answer all checkpoint questions, and answer the assessment questions on page 328.

Thursday – Poverty & Income Distribution. Class will read and review pages 329 to 338 in the handout. Students will define all terms, answer all checkpoint questions, and answer the assessment questions on page 338.

Friday – Test Review. Review for the test on the Economic Performance & Challenges unit.


High School English

Monday – Creative Writing Story. Write a 1000 to 1500 word story written in first person past tense, that ends with the narrator revealing a secret that changes the meaning of the entire story. (Due Friday).

Tuesday – Creative Writing Story. Write a 1000 to 1500 word story about two friends that make a bet that hinges on a coin flip. (Due Friday).

Wednesday – Creative Writing Story. Write a 1000 to 1500 word story about two friends that make a bet that hinges on a coin flip. (Due Friday).

Thursday – Lord of the Flies, Chapter 5. The class will read Lord of the Flies, Chapter 5. Students will participate in class discussion and answer questions posed by the teacher. Absent students will read the chapter independently and write 7 higher order thinking questions and answers about the text.

Friday – Lord of the Flies, Chapter 6. The class will read Lord of the Flies, Chapter 5. Students will participate in class discussion and answer questions posed by the teacher. Absent students will read the chapter independently and write 7 higher order thinking questions and answers about the text.


8th Grade English

Monday – Sentence Diagrams #2. Class will review and students will complete worksheet provided by the teacher.

Tuesday – The Aenid of Virgil & Hades: Lord of the Dead. Students will complete the engage your brain activity on page 137. Class will read pages 140 & 141. Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 142. Class will read pages 143 through 152. Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 153 and the Analyze the text questions on page 154.

Wednesday – Vocabulary Story #1. Students will receive Vocabulary List #5. Students will use the vocabulary words to write a 20 sentence story. 15 of the sentences must include one of the vocabulary words.

Thursday – The Book of Unknown Americans. Class will read pages 177 to 184 in the textbook. Students will complete the Assessment Practice on page 185. Students will complete the Analyze the Text questions on page 186.

Friday – Vocabulary Quiz #5. Quiz on Vocabulary List #5.


8th Grade American History

Monday – Road to Revolution, Part 2. Class will finish watching the videos at the end of the PowerPoint presentation. Review Day/Missing Work Make-up Day. Students will use the time to study materials and/or to make up missing assignments.

Tuesday – Brain Bowl Review. Review activity/game to prepare for the test on the Road to Revolution unit.

Wednesday – Road to Revolution Test. Test on the Road to Revolution unit.

Thursday – The American Revolution, Part 1. PowerPoint Presentation on the American Revolution. Students will listen, read slides, watch video clips, answer teacher-directed questions, participate in class discussions, and answer questions on PowerPoint slides.
