4th Period: 8th Grade Reading

Monday: Silent Reading // Double Negative Worksheet // Continue reading The Diary of Anne Frank

Tuesday: Silent Reading // Read "The Diary of a Young Girl" excerpt pg. 410 // Answer Making Meanings questions 1 - 6 on page 412 // Discuss these questions as a class

Wednesday: Silent Reading // Watch "The Short Life of Anne Frank" Documentary

Thursday: Silent Reading // View Anne Frank Secret Annex virtual tour

Friday: Silent Reading // Creative Writing “I Am” poem #3 pg. 413 - students will write an “I Am” poem for Anne Frank using the framework provided on pg. 413

5th Period: Creative Writing

Monday: Quick-write in journals: Too Much Money // Shakespearean MadLibs in groups!

Tuesday: Quick-write in journals // “And Then” Stories in groups

Thursday: Quick-write in journals // Review all stories/poems so far and choose ONE to rewrite/edit for submission to your Creative Writing Portfolio (must be error-free, typed, and polished)
