WEEK OF OCTOBER 30, 2023. **Subject to change

LATE WORK WILL BE GRADED AS ZERO. BE RESPONSIBLE.

Halloween: You may dress up if you like!

Period 1: English HS (If absent, see “Period 1” folder for handouts).

MON-TUES: Story writing (the details were given out on Friday in a handout). The story is due WED at the beginning of class.

WED: Story due at the beginning of the class. We will begin “cultural literature” discussion. (handouts).

THURS: “The Arranged Marriage,” a short story, vocabulary.

FRI: Vocabulary Quiz. Read the short story, “The Arranged Marriage” and write a summary.

Period 2: Reading/Literature/Film (IF ABSENT, see the “period 2” folder for makeup work).

MON-TUES: We will be watching the newer film “The Most Dangerous Game.”

WED-FRI: We will be working on an assignment related to the story and the two films of the same name that we watched.

Period 3: ELA 6th Grade (IF ABSENT, see the “period 3” folder for makeup work).

MON: Capitalization handout work is due unless already turned in on Friday. 2 handouts (narrative assignment/rubric and dialogue rules) will be given out. Work on the narrative assignment will begin.

TUES-WED: Continue work on narrative assignment.

WED HW: Write two sentences each for the following three words (6 sentences total): trap (verb), trap (noun).

THURS: Final day to work on your narrative assignment. Due on Friday beginning of class.

FRI: Narrative due at the beginning of class – turn into the clipboard. Vocabulary work in class (handout). Monday is a vocabulary quiz.

Period 4: Ethics (IF ABSENT, see “period 4” folder for makeup work.)

MON: Presentations.

TUES-FRI: Conflicts between religion and medical treatments/vaccines. Discussion, research.

Period 5: STUDY HALL – 8th grade

This period is intended to offer additional time to complete assignments in all classes, absentee work, and afford help in 8th grade ELA. Come prepared to work and study. Grades are based upon dedication to study and behavior standards.

Period 6: Speech and Debate (no class Wednesdays)

MON, TUE, THURS: Perform persuasive speeches. TOPIC: Should the U.S. ban Tic-Tok.

FRI:Courthouse field trip.
