Friday: Test on EOC Flashcards Sets 1- 9

3rd Period: 6/7th Grade Advanced Reading

Monday: Silent Reading // New Vocab Cards: Foreshadowing // Play vocab game and begin working on vocab cards

Tuesday: Silent Reading // Begin Reading “Three Skeleton Key” pg. 65

Wednesday: Silent Reading // Complete Three Skeleton Key

Thursday: Silent Reading // Complete Making Meanings pg. 77 # 1 - 8

Friday: Vocab Test: Foreshadowing // Silent Reading // Mad Libs

4th Period: 8th Grade Reading

Monday: Silent Reading // New Vocab: Sentence Fragments // Play vocab game and begin working on vocab cards

Tuesday: Silent Reading // Sentence Fragments Worksheet // Read Brer Possum’s Dilemma pg. 453 - 455

Wednesday: Silent Reading // Making Meanings pg. 457 #2 - 6 // “Fragments - Exercise 1” worksheets

Thursday: Silent Reading // Complete Sentence Fragments Read and Respond Activity

Friday: Sentence Fragments Quiz // Silent Reading // Mad Libs

5th Period: Creative Writing

Monday: Quick-write in journals // Students fill out a worksheet to create “I Am” poems

Tuesday: Quick-write in journals // Writing Tabloid Fiction: Students review various tabloid-style writings and work in pairs to generate ideas for their own outlandish stories involving celebrity gossip, supernatural creatures, or shocking discoveries!

Thursday: Quick-write in journals // Finish Tabloid stories and assemble newspaper/poster for display
