2. First-of-Its-Kind Civics & Law Program
We are proud to announce the launch of our new Civics & Law Program for the 2023-24 school year. This program will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal and political systems that shape our society and the rights and responsibilities of citizens within them. Learn about the U.S. Constitution, the branches of government and criminal and civil law while you participate in debates and mock trials. This is the first program of its kind in Florida for 9th -12th graders and will no doubt be a distinguishing feature on your transcript in the college admissions process.

Micanopy Academy partners with Santa Fe College (SFC) to provide a convenient, tuition-free opportunity for our high school students to earn college credits. Hard working students can earn an associate's degree or vocational training from SFC without financial cost. We also support students to graduate when they have finished their coursework and are ready to head out into the world. Once again, it’s the support of our caring staff that helps students find a path that is just right for them.
5. Field Trips & Fun
We work hard and we play hard. There is nothing better than a field trip to the Florida Museum of Natural History to round out our learning or to Skate Station to let loose and have some fun. We even host field trips to far-flung destinations like NYC and Peru to give students first-hand experience in our world. Friday Fun Days, Spirit Week, Florida snowball fights and plenty of movie and popcorn rewards keep our students motivated and building lifelong friendships.

Our community is our greatest asset. We gratefully lean on our community to go the extra mile for our students. Our active Parent Teacher Organization contributes to the well-being of our school by taking on big projects like fundraising, field trips and school events. We protect our students and staff with 24 hour security surveillance, locked doors and the guidance of our School Guardian who is trained by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
