Economics

Monday – Benefits of Free Enterprise. Class will read pages 50 to 56 in the textbook. Students will answer teacher-directed questions and define terms.

Wednesday – Brain Bowl #5: Mixed Economies and Benefits of Free Enterprise.

Thursday – Quiz (Mixed Economies and Benefits of Free Enterprise.)

Friday – Enrichment Activity.


English Honors

Monday – Class will continue reading Beowulf (pages 42 to 46). Students will answer teacher-directed guided reading questions.

Tuesday – Class will continue reading Beowulf (pages 47 to 51). Students will answer Thinking Through Literature questions on page 51.

Wednesday – Class will read Chapter 10 in Lord of the Flies. Students will answer teacher-directed guided reading questions.

Thursday – Class will read Chapter 11 in Lord of the Flies. Students will answer teacher-directed guided reading questions.

Friday – Class will read Chapter 12 in Lord of the Flies. Students will answer teacher-directed guided reading questions.


8th Grade American History

Monday – Students will complete workbook pages 25 – 27 as a review about the attempts of France and the Netherlands to explore and colonize North America.

Note: We will not be having a separate quiz on the Lost Colony of Roanoke unit, but questions from this unit will be included on the Jamestown quiz.

Tuesday – PowerPoint: Jamestown (Teacher will lecture and discuss. Students will verbally answer teacher-directed questions, write answers to questions written on slides, and watch and discuss videos.)

Drama

Monday – Character Skit: Students will be divided into groups of four and plan a five minute skit with the characters that they created the previous week.

Tuesday – Character Skit: Students will act out the five-minute skit with their four characters.

Wednesday – NO CLASS.

Thursday – First Two Lines Improv Activity.
