Note: This Agenda Blog is only an approximate plan of the weekly lesson plans. Changes can and will be made due to unanticipated circumstances and in order to maximize instructional effectiveness.


Government

Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – The Formation of Public Opinion. Using textbook pages 214 to 219 as a guide, class will discuss what public opinion is and what factors shape it.

Wednesday – FSA Writing Workshop. (No Class)

Thursday – Measuring Public Opinion. Using textbook page 220 to 226 as a guide, class will discuss how public opinion is measured and how polls are conducted. Teacher will provide students with a list of topics to poll their fellow students on. Students will make a ten question poll in order to poll their fellow students.

HW: Students will finish poll questions.

Friday – Public Polling Activity. Class will share polls and teacher will give feedback. Students will poll fellow classmates.

HW: (Due Next Wednesday) Students will poll a minimum of 25 students in the school. They will write up a report on their polling results and will share with the class on Wednesday.


English Honors

Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – T.S. Eliot. Class will read the selected poems of T.S. Eliot on pages 1064 to 1070. Students will complete the Connect to Your Life chart on page 1064. Students will complete the Thinking Through Literature questions on page 1066 and 1069.

Wednesday – FSA Writers Workshop. (NO CLASS)

Thursday – Limerick Poetry. Students will learn what a limerick poem is and will write three limerick poems on topics of their classmates choosing.

Friday – Vocabulary Quiz. Students will have a quiz on the cumulative vocabulary they have learned to this point.


8th Grade American History

Monday – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday – Dealing with Other Nations. Class will read and review textbook pages 345 to 348. Students will answer questions provided by teacher.

Wednesday - FSA Writers Workshop. (NO CLASS)

Thursday - Age of Jackson. Class will read and review textbook pages 349 to 365. Students will answer questions provided by teacher.

Friday – Indian Removal. Students will independently read textbook pages 355 to 359 and complete questions on worksheet provided by teacher.
