Note: This Agenda Blog is only an approximate plan of the weekly lesson plans. Changes can and will be made due to unanticipated circumstances and in order to maximize instructional effectiveness.




Government


Monday – Basic Principles: Part Two. Class will read and review pages 72 to 75 and students will answer teacher-directed questions.


Tuesday – Formal Amendment. Class will read and review pages 78 to 83 and students will answer teacher-directed questions.


Wednesday – Political Polling. Students will create their own political poll with five questions. They will go around the room, poll their fellow classmates, and then tally the results.


Thursday – Change by Other Means. Class will read and review pages 85 to 88 and students will answer teacher-directed questions.


Friday – Chapter 3 Test. (Test on textbook pages 68 to 88.)




English Honors


Monday – Quick Write Activity. Students will write a quick write essay on the topic, “If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why? What would you do there?”


Tuesday – Vocabulary List & Sentences. Students will receive the vocabulary list and class will review. Students will write each vocabulary word in a sentence with context clues demonstrating their understanding of the vocabulary word.


Wednesday – 1984. Students will begin reading Book 2 (on page 105) in 1984.

HW: Students must read through page 147 in 1984. Students will come up with three higher-order thinking questions (1984 – pages 1 to 147), which they will ask their classmates tomorrow (Thursday.)


Thursday – Peer Group Question & Answer Strategies. Students will ask and answer their classmates 1984 questions.


Friday – Vocabulary Quiz. Students will continue reading 1984.

HW: Students must read through page 218 in 1984 by Monday.




8th Grade American History


Monday – The Constitution of the United States of America, Part Two. Class will continue reading, discussing, and review the Constitution, which is located on pages 228 to 250 in the textbook. Students will answer teacher-directed questions on a piece of paper.

Wednesday – The Constitution of the United States of America, Part Three. Class will continue reading, discussing, and review the Constitution, which is located on pages 228 to 250 in the textbook. Students will answer teacher-directed questions on a piece of paper.


Thursday – Brain Bowl Review (on the Constitution.)


Friday – Constitution Test.
