American History High School


Monday – NO SCHOOL


Tuesday – Chapter 16 Vocabulary. Students will receive Chapter 16 vocabulary list. Class will review. Dictators & War. Class will read and review pages 516 to 522 in the textbook.

Homework: Study for Chapter 15 Test


Wednesday – Chapter 15 Test. Students who finish early will read pages 523 to 530 in the textbook.

Homework: Students will complete the Section 2 Assessment on page 530.


Thursday – Primary Source: Franklin Delano’s Four Freedoms Speech. Class will read and discuss on page 531 of the textbook. Students will answer the two critical thinking questions and the two following question, “1) Do you agree with FDR’s assessment that America’s security had never before been so seriously threatened by a foreign power? Why or why not? 2) Which of the four freedoms outlined by FDR are in accordance with the Founding Fathers vision of government? Which are not? Explain your answer.”

Homework: America Enters the War. Students will read pages 532 to 539 in the textbook.


Friday – Chapter 16 Test Review. Class will review for Chapter 16 Test.




World History High School


Monday – NO SCHOOL


Tuesday – Wars and the Growth of Nations. Class will read and review pages 336 to 340 in the textbook. Students will define all terms and create 5 questions and answers based on the information in the reading.


Wednesday – Challenges to Church Power. Class will read and review pages 341 to 343 in the textbook. Students will define all terms and create 5 questions and answers based on the information in the reading.

Homework: Students will study Chapter 14.


Thursday – Chapter 14 Test Review. Students will answer questions asked by teacher.

Homework: Students will study Chapter 14.


Friday – Chapter 14 Test.




English High School


Monday – NO SCHOOL


Tuesday – Chapter 13 Vocabulary List. Students will receive Chapter 13 Vocabulary List. Class will discuss and review. Students will write words in sentences with context clues demonstrating their understanding of the words.


Wednesday – Creative Writing Essay. Students will write a 1000-to-1500-word story around the following topic: The story’s main character suffers from a condition that causes seemingly random blackouts for varying amounts of time. The only thing they ever remember before these episodes is the appearance of a yellow van with a large dent on the side. One day, they wake up and see the yellow van parked in their driveway. This time, there is no blackout.

Homework: Bring in sustained silent reading book for approval by teacher.

Tuesday – Introduction to Chapter 6: The American Revolution. Class will review and discuss interactive map on page 168 & 169. A Nation Declares Independence. Class will read and discuss pages 170 to 173 in the textbook. Students will answer questions on worksheet provided by teacher.


Wednesday – The Declaration of Independence. Class will review and discuss the Declaration of Independence on pages 174 to 178. Students will answer questions on worksheet provided by teacher.


Thursday – A Critical Time. Class will read and discuss pages 179 to 184 in the textbook. Students will answer questions on worksheet provided by teacher.


Friday – The War Widens. Class will read and discuss pages 186 to 190 in the textbook. Students will answer questions on worksheet provided by teacher.
